Chatham Social Health Council. HIV/AIDS Prevention Education and Advocacy


Few deadly diseases can be completely and easily avoided. Unlike many diseases, HIV/AIDS and STDs are preventable through education.

Through education, advocacy, and support, the Chatham Social Health Council strives to prevent HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in Chatham County, North Carolina.

Program Goals

Decrease the numbers of HIV/AIDS and STD infections in Chatham County.

Increase the numbers of people in Chatham County seeking testing and treatment for HIV/AIDS and STD infections.

Increase the knowledge about national and local HIV/AIDS and STD infection rates and trends, modes of infection and methods of disease prevention in the Chatham County community.
